A Conscientious Technologies™ Project
The importance of media in shaping perceptions, actions, and reactions around the world is undeniable. In the founding days of democracies and republics, independent critical media was understood to be an essential element of the "civic loop".
Today however, independent investigative media has been squelched and replaced by a tiny (and still diminishing) number of consolidated corporate-owned media conglomerates. The mainstream message now has less to do with significant issues and genuinely balanced fact-based accounts. Corporate media is mostly about distracting mass consumer audiences with disproportional repetition of trivia - primarily to advance global sales of goods / services via celebrity representatives (including political "personalities").
Mainstream "infotainment" and embedded corporate commentary, which are widely confused as "news", are carefully crafted to promote the corporate owners' message and preemptively subvert any rational consideration and debate of important events and issues.
Humanity is in big trouble, and independent human-centric media is more important now than ever before.
